かなり読み応えがある。大人のわたしが読んでも1時間程度かかる。
他の本買うついでに、先回りして買ったもので、わたしの子供が手に取るようになるには1〜2年後だろうか。いや、そもそも手に取るのだろうか。。。
パープルは6、7歳以上向けのものがほとんどだが、最上位ボックスだけあって、8、9歳以上向けも紛れている。
不朽の名作（要約版）、歴史、伝記とジャンルが広がる。シェークスピア、ディケンズなどの作品も登場する。
子供がこんな本を暇つぶしに読んでいたら、きっと泣いてしまう。そして、嬉しくて、子供は外で遊べ！と思ってもないことを言ってしまうことだろう。
